Gel filtration chromatography separates enzymes, proteins and other water- soluble polymers by utilizing the difference in the size of the molecules. Since mobile phases used for gel filtration chromatography are usually moderate buffer solutions or salts, this method can separate molecules while retaining their biological activity. The COSMOSIL ® Diol-IIpacked column is highly recommended for the separation of various water-soluble polymers.
