C60 is a molecule comprised of 60 carbon atoms configured in the shape of a soccer ball with 12 pentagons and 20 hexagons. It occurs naturally under very specific conditions, such as when lightning strikes. Since its discovery in 1985, the biomedical industry has been researching the properties of this molecule that contribute to health benefits and risks.

The molecule belongs to a group of nanoparticles called fullerenes. C70, C76, C78, and C84 are the other members of the fullerene group. Raw C60 can be extracted from soot. Through the extraction process, a fraction of the other nanoparticles are likely to be present. A high-grade product should contain 99.9% carbon 60.

How Is C60 Used?

In the health industry, this substance may produce many positive health benefits if used correctly. A person does not need a high dose of carbon 60 to get positive results. Safe consumption also requires a carrier medium as most often, it is dissolved in a food-grade oil. The purpose of doing so is to form a solution in which the C60 is evenly distributed throughout.

Using olive oil in C60 delivery provides the combined benefits of both the oil and the molecule. Carbon 60 is fully soluble in the oil, which is imperative in the safety of the product for human consumption. When the two are combined, their chemical structures are maintained, and no new bonds are formed.

SES Research creates a high-quality supplement using 99.9% C60 stirred in organic olive oil for three weeks at room temperature. This ensures complete dissolution, which prevents the detrimental impacts associated with the improper use of this beneficial fullerene.

When Is C60 Dangerous?Molecules

If the molecule is not completely dissolved, improper dosing occurs as the molecules are not dispersed evenly throughout the solution. This can result in a person getting either too little or too much of the fullerene. If too little is consumed, the benefits are less likely to be as noticeable. Each person responds to C60 differently, so taking too much may lead to a negative experience.

C60 and Water Mixture

The highest degree of danger in the fullerene is from trying to mix it with water. Carbon 60 cannot be dissolved in water, as combining the two forms a suspension. Unlike dissolving the molecule in oil, the suspension does change the chemical structure and forms several new nanoparticles.

These new molecules do not confer the same benefits as the unmodified C60. Instead, they are toxic to people. Therefore, the carrier for this powerful antioxidant is extremely important. Using olive oil in C60 delivery maintains the structure and allows for safe human consumption.

C60 and Electric Charge

Another potential concern is the molecule’s electric charge. Unaltered carbon 60 has a negative charge. In this anionic state, the fullerene is an antioxidant. When the charge is changed to positive, it no longer has the same effect on the body.

In the cationic state, it acts as a free radical and is something many of us already have too many of in our systems. Fighting free radicals is the reason to take C60, not to create more of them.

What Are the Benefits of C60?Girl Stretching

When carbon 60 is used correctly, it is one of the most powerful antioxidants out there. At SES Research, we ensure you get the same high-quality product each and every time. We use only the purest form of C60. At a 99.9% level of purity, you can be assured that we have removed all toxins and impurities from the source material. We create a stable solution using organic olive oil to get a consistent formula in every bottle.

Antioxidants are necessary to reduce oxidative stress in the body from having too many free radicals. The molecule is attracted to the extra electron in free radicals, neutralizing it. Removing excess free radicals also results in lower inflammation, which can improve the symptoms of inflammatory diseases such as arthritis.

Other benefits from taking C60 include:

  • Reduction in cell apoptosis
  • Improvements in cartilage and bone health
  • Protection from bacteria and viruses
  • Protection from radiation
